Trauma, and specifically abuse, are things that we don’t often talk about in church, but the truth is that many of us have experienced it. As a follow-up to the message on April 3, 2022, Erin Lass joins the podcast to talk about the effects that trauma can have on us as well as some practical ways to begin to move toward healing. Erin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a thriving practice, Waypoints Counseling, in Plainview, TX. If you have ever been abused, or experienced any kind of trauma, you're going to want to listen to this episode. If you haven't, the odds are that you know someone who has, or who is walking through that trauma right now. This episode has some really great advice for helping folks who are dealing with the fallout from trauma.

There is a huge difference between knowing about someone and actually knowing someone. Especially in this age of social media, it’s increasingly different for us sometimes to distinguish between those two things in our relationships. If we aren’t careful, we can assume that we have a relationship with folks that we actually don’t have. It’s also easy for us to assume that we have a relationship with God that we don’t have. What if we know about Jesus, but we don’t actually know him? This week, Jeremy Walker joins the podcast, and we talk about faith, what it means to have a relationship with God. We also talk about worship, farming, eating gross things, small town living and how to respond when we’ve been hurt by church people. You are going to enjoy getting to know Jeremy a little better.

Jeremy works at Texas Girls and Boys Ranch. Find out more about this amazing ministry here:
